Christmas Bird Count 2013
December 29, 2013

Robby Lambert came to Chebeague and Stephen and I accompanied him on his bird count for the eastern end of the Island which is part of the Freeport/Brunswick Bird Count Zone. I will be reporting the results after they are compiled but of interest was a Northern Shrike and a couple of Carolina Wrens and a couple of Hermit Thrushs. We saw quite a few Eagles, Horned and Red-necked Grebes, and lots of various sea birds, and the regulars around here. The sun never came out and it was cold, damp and dark and as a result the photos aren't what I would have liked but I had a blast! As Robby was leaving he noticed a couple of Eagles over on Carter's Point and one of them was feasting on a Mourning Dove.
